Okay. Okay. I will admit it mamas, I love popsicle stick crafts. Even more so, the kids love them too.
There are so many cute popsicle stick craft ideas out there – but these Popsicle Stick Rainbow and Pot of Gold crafts are surely at the top of my personal list of favorites.
St. Patrick’s Day is only a week away. March is in full effect and it’s time to transition from those gloomy winter days into those filled with sunshine and rainbows, isn’t it? This simple popsicle stick craft inspires just that.
What You Will Need:
- 7 Popsicle Craft Sticks (colored craft sticks could also be used)
- Glue Stick or Craft Glue
- Red, Orange, Green, Blue, Yellow, Purple, and Black Paint
- Gold or Yellow Pom Poms (small)
- Cardstock or Cardboard
Instructions:
- To begin, use craft glue or glue sticks to glue 6 popsicle sticks together on your piece of cardstock or cardboard. It honestly does not matter what material you use for your backing, as long as it is strong enough to support your popsicles sticks.
- Cut and remove the remaining cardstock or cardboard to assure that they are equal in both length and width to your popsicle sticks.
- Allow to dry.
- Using your glue stick or craft glue, glue an additional popsicle stick horizontally across the center to create the rim of your Pot of Gold.
- Paint the 6 popsicle sticks above the rim in accordance with the colors of the rainbow (red, orange, green, blue, yellow and purple).
- Using the black paint, paint the bottom half of your creation, as well as the additional popsicle stick that we used to create the rim of the Pot of Gold.
- Allow to dry.
- Using your glue stick or craft glue, glue a gold/yellow pom pom to each rainbow colored posicle stick just above the rim to resemble the gold. Let your creations dry!
- Additionally, we added a small magnet to the back of our creations, transforming them into cute, crafty decorations for the fridge.
